My name is Roxie Ronconi, and I am excited to be a part of the wonderful team at Mountain Vista! I earned my Bachelor’s degree and Doctorate of Occupational Therapy degree at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. I initially worked as outpatient occupational therapist at Children’s Hospital Colorado in Colorado Springs, and have worked as a school-based OT for the past 5+ years. I have always had a passion for working with children and helping them utilize their strengths and find growth in a positive environment.  I moved to Colorado after graduate school and have loved the abundance of outdoor activities offered here ever since, including skiing and hiking in the mountains. In my free time I also enjoy yoga, cross stitch, and traveling. I look forward to working with you and assisting your child in having a meaningful and successful school year!

kate murphy This year marks my 11th year as a School Psychologist.  I was born and raised in New Jersey, which also is where I started my career.  I moved to Colorado 6 years ago with my husband, who is a Colorado native.  I have worked at the preschool and elementary levels for the past 6 years in various Cherry Creek Schools.  I am a big proponent for taking a preventative approach to social, emotional, and behavioral issues, and enjoy working closely with teachers, students, and families in an effort to provide strategies and supports so that ALL children have a positive school experience. I have two young boys and live in Aurora.  When I'm not working, I enjoy practicing yoga, reading, and digital scrapbooking.

My name is Katy Rohrig and I am excited to be part of the Mountain Vista community as a K-2 Academic Interventionist.  As a Colorado native, I grew up in the Cherry Creek School system.  After graduating from Overland High School, I earned my Bachelor's degree and my Master's degree in Reading from the University of Florida (Go Gators!)  After college, I missed the change in seasons that Colorado offers, so I returned and taught at Eastridge Elementary for 14 years.  During that time, I taught First Grade, Reading Recovery, and most recently, K-2 reading intervention for developing readers.  I truly enjoy sharing my love of reading with my students!  I firmly and passionately believe that it is my responsibility, as a teacher, to ensure that each child succeeds as a direct result of my work.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my husband of 16 years, Scott, my daughter, Emerson (11 years), and my son, Hayden (8 years).   We love anything outdoors—camping, hiking, bike-riding… you name it!  I look forward to meeting our new Mountain Vista family!

Greetings!  My name is Anna Haynes.  I am a Speech-Language Pathologist, and am thrilled to begin my 14th year in the Cherry Creek School District as a part of Mountain Vista!!  Originally from Wisconsin, I am a 2-time graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison... GO BADGERS!  After finishing my Master's Degree, I headed out to Denver and found a quick second home and family in the Cherry Creek Schools.

My husband, Jake, and I treasure every second with our daughters Olivia and Kate.  As a family we love football, being with friends and family, new adventures, and enjoying the outdoors.  My creative outlets are gardening and digital scrapbooking.  I believe in the value and power of making connections to support the right interventions, and am so fortunate to be a part of the magic happening every day in education as we work together to create passionate and successful life-long learners.  Thank you for starting your kids on this journey with us... it promises to be a FUN and PRODUCTIVE year!

brittany birdMy name is Brittany Bird.  I was born and raised in Fairfield, Texas.  I attended Baylor University and graduated with a Bachelor's in Speech Science Communications and Disorders.  I worked for two years as a speech language pathologist assistant before realizing teaching children with special needs was my true passion.  I am so excited to start my fifteenth year teaching special education.  I taught special education in Texas for the first seven years and this is my eighth in Colorado.

I am honored to be working in Cherry Creek School district and even more honored to be a special education teacher at Mountain Vista Elementary.  I believe every child's education is a priority and I am committed to helping each child to successfully access grade level standards.

Nibecker.jpgHello Mountain Vista, my name is Robert Nibecker, and I am excited to be one of the 3rd grade teachers here at Mountain Vista Elementary!  I grew up in Southern California and attended Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff for my undergraduate education.  I continued my education by earning two master's degrees, with one in Digital Teaching and Learning (Azusa Pacific University in California) and the other in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies (University of Denver).  I have spent most of my years in education as a classroom teacher (fifth grade and third grade) while also serving years as a technology teacher, interventionist, and PLC coach.  I believe that students learn best by "doing," and seek to engage all students by ensuring our learning in the classroom is differentiated and driven by student interests.

When not at Mountain Vista, I enjoy spending time cycling, hiking, swimming, or just doing yard work with my wife, Nichole, and our two daughters Faith (8 years old) and Zoe (5 years old).

I look forward to continue working together with all of our school community in making Mountain Vista a wonderful place for us all to call home!

Felker Photo.JPGMy name is Brian Felker. My father was a chaplain in the United States Air Force so I was born in Nebraska but I lived everywhere else. I went to Kindergarten in Okinawa and graduated high school in Germany. I moved to Colorado and became a child and family therapist. After helping the students, parents and staff of Columbine High School return to finish out that fateful school year, I realized that I wanted to work in the public school system and have worked in Cherry Creek elementary schools since 2000.  If I'm not at Mountain Vista, you can find me at another Cherry Creek elementary school nearby. When I'm not working, you can find me enjoying friends, family and traveling.

Have a great year!
