Hi! My name is Lilly Jamison, and I am excited to be a part of Mountain Vista! I hold a Bachelor's in English and a Master's in Education with an emphasis in literacy. This year will mark my 15th year in teaching, and I look forward to 15 more!
As an Eaglecrest graduate, I spent most of my teenage years in Aurora, Colorado. My husband, Wes, and I have two children, Taten and Lyla, and we are excited for them to learn and grow at Mountain Vista! As a family, we enjoy weekends on the boat, mountain adventures, and spending time with our extended families and friends.
Teaching is my passion! I believe that providing an excellent education is essential for all students. For students to reach their full potential, they must learn in a safe, welcoming environment that is filled with interesting and challenging opportunities. Every student has the capability to learn, but not all students learn the same way. I strive for diversity and differentiation in instruction so that each student can find success. I believe that my role is to be a guide for students on their individual academic journeys. A quote I live by comes from Ralph Waldo Emerson, "Nothing was ever achieved without enthusiasm!"
It is a privilege to be a part of Mountain Vista, and I am so excited be a member of the kindergarten grade team! I am a Colorado native and attended Cherry Creek School District schools kindergarten through twelfth grade. I continued my education at Colorado State University where I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development and Family Studies with an Early Childhood Education teaching license and a minor is Spanish. In May 2016, I completed my Master of Arts in Reading Education. Teaching reading is my passion!
When I am not at school, you will find me spending time with my husband, Kenny, and our children, Elijah and Eden. Apart from that, I enjoy reading, yoga, and spending time with family and friends.
I believe that at an early age, children develop attitudes toward education and themselves as learners that will stay with them the rest of their lives. As an educator is it important to shape his or her experiences in a way that allow children to have a positive and strong foundation for the rest of their lives. You are your child's first and most important teacher and I look forward to working with you and your child in this exciting journey of education. As your child's first teacher in their formal education career I realize the trust that you are putting in me and I will strive to make their kindergarten experience full of fun and learning. I look forward to providing a safe, welcoming environment where students will develop a desire to become lifelong learners. I am excited for the year ahead of us!
